Sundance Vacations- Things to Do in South Padre Island, Texas

South Padre Island in Texas has tons of things to do! With over 300 days of sunshine each year, this place is pretty much always bright and beautiful.

It’s located on the southern tip of Texas and only 30 miles from Mexico, which is probably the reason for its sunny beaches. Escape the hustle of Ocean City Maryland and get away to an island escape without going to the Caribbean.

Because of South Padre Island’s stunning weather, it is a beacon for windsurfing, kayaking, boating, boogie boarding, fishing, paddle boarding, and a number of other water sports.

Be sure not to miss all the fishing tournaments at South Padre Island either.

It’s also an awesome place to go whale or dolphin watching! Get up close to the sea creatures or maybe even some birds at the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center.

There are so many things you could see or do on your trip! Check out our article for a detailed description of things to do in South Padre Island, Texas:

Things discussed in the article include access to the Port Isabel Lighthouse, where you can go up into the inside of the lighthouse, as well as Sea Turtle Inc., where you could assist turtles in need.
